Please see the flyer, and hopefully you can attend!

Lots of giggles, a few โewws,โ and most importantlyโstudents are leaving feeling more confident and informed. And as always, we hope the conversations keep going at school, at home, and everywhere in between. ๐

Connect with local organizations, enjoy a free dinner, and hear from a panel of mental health professionals during an engaging discussion for parents. Students will also have the chance to join in on activities in the gym while the panel is taking place.
We encourage families to pre-register (use QR code on the flyer) to help us plan for dinner and to submit questions for the panel ahead of time. We hope to see you there!

Support our students while celebrating their creativity! Each child in an art class this year has created a unique piece of artwork that can be turned into keepsakes like mugs, magnets, and moreโperfect for gifts or family treasures.
Every purchase helps support our school, so be sure to check out your studentโs custom catalog and order soon. Thank you for supporting our young artists! Our fundraiser will be live until April 3rd!

We have an organizational Parent Teacher Group meeting on Thursday, January 22, 2026 from 5-6pm in the SAMS Library.
See you there!
The parent-teacher group meeting scheduled for Thursday, 12/11/25 at 5:00 pm is postponed. We will reach out when the meeting is rescheduled.
Thanks!
This week, our Penobscot students had the incredible opportunity to meet two representatives from Sappi along with Dr. Brodsky of Maine Health, who opened their eyes to the wide range of science careers available right here in Maine!
From foresters at Sappi, who shared what they look for when theyโre out in the woods and the many career paths within the company, to endocrinologists and medical researchers, students got to see just how many possibilities the bioscience world holds.
They were encouraged to dream bigโtheir wildest dreams!โand to think about the steps that can lead them to their future careers. We also talked about the value of volunteering, trying new things, asking questions, and building skills through every experience, even if it doesnโt seem directly connected to their career path just yet.
A huge thank-you to our guests for inspiring the next generation of Maine scientists! ๐

A Community Champion is a person who collaborates with a variety of partners to strengthen school, business, and non-profit relationships for the benefit of the community and our students.
Congratulations to SAMS' first Community Champion of the year, Mrs Tanner! Not only has Mrs Tanner made our school and district a better place through her years of leadership for the Penobscot Team and Math Department, but she leads the Sweet Dreams Project for our community. This project organizes local volunteers, coordinates donations, and partners with local groups to collect and distribute gift bags and pajamas for children in need across central Maine. She cannot be recognized enough for this projectโ it is outstanding. We have all been lucky to have the opportunity to be a part of this amazing community service.
Thank you for everything you do, Mrs Tanner!
