On January 27 and February 9, 8th grade classes participated in a “Discovering Your Strengths” workshop with Ashleigh and Jen, School Specialists with GEAR UP Maine RISE. The workshop was designed to get the students thinking about various strengths people can have, the particular strengths and interests the students themselves have, and how they might leverage those into a career later on in life. During the workshop, students were also surveyed on their thoughts about future careers, skills they’d like to learn, and areas of interest for a possible career-related field trip.
Ashleigh and Jen enjoyed their time with the students, who were great participants and a lot of fun to work with!
